Tales of the City is Coming Back to SF
Tales of the City is beloved by many for its depiction of ’70s San Francisco and a 25 year old Mary Ann Singleton making a new life for herself.
Producers have gathered the original cast, and are planning an all-day film shoot in Dolores Park on Wednesday, October 24. The sequel miniseries is produced by Netflix and is envisioned as a 10-part mini series. No word on who exactly will be at this day of filming, but Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis are reprising their roles and Ellen Page has joined the cast.

FREE to watchThere will be several locations within the park including the Playground. The playground will be closed to the public that afternoon from around 2 pm to 6. The production will take over the playground with the principal actors and about 20 child and parent actors.
About Tales of the City – Tales of the City is a series of nine novels written by American author Armistead Maupin beginning in 1978. The stories from Tales were originally serialized prior to their novelization, with the first four titles appearing as regular installments in the San Francisco Chronicle, while the fifth appeared in the San Francisco Examiner. The TV miniseries originally aired on PBS in 1994 and later on Showtime.
