Will Thursday End 30 Straight “Spare the Air” Days?
On Monday, the Air District extended the Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke through Wednesday, September 16. This was the 29th and 30th consecutive Spare the Air Alert called.
But in looking at the current air quality (as of 5pm on Wednesday) in which most of the Bay Area air quality is “Good,” there is currently no alert planned yet for Thursday, September 17th.
As always, things can change. Check the Air District’s Current Air Quality page for real-time air quality readings.
A Spare the Air Alert has been extended through 9/16. Smoke from wildfires throughout California, Oregon, and Washington is causing unhealthy air quality in the region.
