Macy’s Great Tree in Union Square, probably San Francisco’s most recognized Christmas tree standing 83-feet tall and decorated with more than 33,000 lights and 1,100 shining ornaments, will be officially lit on Friday, November 28, 2014.

The ceremony is expected to begin at 6 pm and the tree is scheduled to be lit at 6:40 pm. Enjoy live music, dance performances, and special appearances while waiting for that moment when the holiday tree is illuminated.

Headlining the 2014 festivities is Quintavious Johnson of America’s Got Talent Season 9, the 12- year- old singer also known as “The Little Man with a Strong Voice.” Also set to perform are the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Boys Chorus, Beach Blanket Babylon, Tap Dancing Christmas Trees from Alameda, and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir.
