West Oakland Getting New 12,000 sqft Food Hall + Taproom
Thanks to SF Gate for sharing that a brand new food hall is coming to West Oakland in Fall 2024.
The 12,000 sqft Prescott Market will be located at 1620 18th Street, next to Raimondi Park, which is home to Oakland’s new baseball team, Oakland Ballers.
The food hall will have 8 food and beverage spots hopefully including a restaurant, a bakery cafe, a coffeehouse, a pizzeria, a butcher shop & deli, and a taproom from Almanac Beer Co., which is the first business officially signed onto the project.
According to Eater, Almanac will have 20 beers on tap and will have seating for 74 patrons inside plus there will be an outdoor patio.
West Oakland has a rich history of innovation & soul and Prescott West Oakland will bring a little of that back to the neighborhood with the amazing new Prescott Market.
Working with existing buildings around the intersections of 18th/ Peralta / Campbell Sts, SRMErnst Development plans to restore, repurpose and bring back to their original glory, seven to nine buildings, with the centerpiece being a wonderful gathering space for great food, drinks and entertainment enclosed by beautiful outdoor seating areas, patios and parklets.
The area already has a weekly Sunday West Oakland Farmers Market and soon a series of night markets starting June 6. Local favorites also inhabit the growing scene like Kowbird and Horn BBQ from award-winning chef, Matt Horn, Soba Ichi, 7th West, GhostTown Brewing, Magnolia Mini Mart, Kilovolt Coffee and Proyecto Diaz Coffee.
Surrounding Prescott Market will be various commercial buildings encompassing life science, food tech, manufacturing, logistics and research & development, all bringing new people to the area in addition to the many residents and small businesses that have called West Oakland home for decades.
