Event Details

Learn a little more about both Mozart and Mars at One City One Book’s “Outer Space in Classical Music” event on Tuesday, September 27 at the SF Library’s Park Branch.

Join classical music enthusiasts from Salon97 to listen and discuss musical segments chosen as an accompaniment to Mary Roach’s book Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void, all followed by mixing, mingling and refreshments.

No knowledge of classical music is necessary and everyone is welcome, so take part in this literary listening party and enjoy meeting new friends over some quality classical music.

About One City One Book 2011: (9/6 to 11/12) One City One Book is an annual literary event that encourages community members to read the same book and discuss it at events throughout the city.

Similar to a giant, citywide book club, this year’s program is focused on local author Mary Roach’s “Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void,” and will feature book readings, space-themed movie screenings and more, as well as open discussions all over the city through November 12th . Full Schedule of events
