  • Best of – awarded to Bernal-based filmmakerSpirit of – awarded to non-Bernal filmmaker whose work resonates with neighborhood sentiments
  • Bernal Bright Star – awarded to emerging filmmaker with potential to further their craft and career

Additionally (2) films will be aired in the “Beyond Bernal” category:

The Lost Souls of Limbo by Madison Montoya: The story of Limbo, the place between heaven and hell, read from a magical storybook. Though a dark entity is unhappy about its secrets being spilled and is trying to corrupt the message.

Love Returning by Turki Al-Rwaita: A documentary of the collaboration between Ali Alharki, a Syrian refugee living in Germany, who composed this music and musicians in the Bay Area.
