Now in its fifth year, this monthly multicultural comedy show features an eclectic mix of Bay Area comedians and beyond at El Rio, where producer, Lisa Geduldig (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy) began her stand up comedy career 24 years ago.
November features:
- Micia Mosely is a comedian, actress, and educator who has been praised by newyorktheatre.com as “smart, timely and also downright hilarious.” This bi-coastal black lesbian and socio-political comic earned her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and developed an award-nominated one-woman show, “Where My Girls At?”
- David Hawkins has been performing on Bay Area stages for just over 20 years. Starting out as a member of SFs legendary Sick and Twisted Players and as host of the queer cabaret Klubstitute, he then went on to co-produce and host the Dallas midnight movie series Shock Cinema.
- Sampson McCormick is an award-winning, black, openly gay stand up comedian, writer and activist. He has produced three comedy albums, written two books, and won several awards.
- Emily Epstein White performs her magical brand of standup which has been featured in the New York Underground Comedy Festival, gawker.com, and on Good Morning America.
- Lisa Geduldig is a local comic and comedy producer who’s the creator, producer, and MC of a variety of comedy shows including Kung Pao Kosher Comedy which celebrated its 20th anniversary last December.
