Community Concerts at Epworth presents EOS Ensemble in a performance of Beethoven violin sonata #9 “Kreutzer” and Janacek String Quartet #1 “the Kreutzer Sonata”. EOS Ensemble consists of members of SF Opera and Ballet Orchestras and bring a dramatic flair to the chamber music repertoire.
Join them for this program of passionate music by two very different masters of chamber music, interspersed with readings from Tolstoy’s novella “The Kreutzer Sonata” which inspired the Czech composer Janacek to write his first string quartet.
