Event Details

Want to design a public space with a group of friends? Challenge yourself to improve the space around Oakland’s Lake Merritt gazebo with seating and entertainment ideas or whatever you can think of to attract people to use this space. But the challenge is to make your ideas out of cardboard, duct tape and markers.

This if for everyone — designers and non-designers to get involved in improving the community starting with public spaces.

Please note, the event will now run until 4 pm.

Bring supplies (duct tape and markers) if you can. There will be a limited supply of cardboard and tape while it lasts. There will also be light snacks and refreshments to power you through the designing of an awesome new space.

Meet at the Lake Merritt Gazebo located behind Children’s Fairyland. There is free street parking on Grand Ave and paid parking ($5) on Bellevue Ave.
