CHM Live:
Making News with Data: Tech and the Future of News

Event Description
From data journalism, which uses data analysis and visualization to uncover and explain news stories, to AI, technology continues to reshape the future of news. Since 2022, CHM has convened a diverse range of journalism and technology leaders for a series of Tech and the Future of News roundtables and public forum events from New York to Silicon Valley. In the dynamic news environment of 2025, computing technology continues to enable better reporting.

Join us for a dynamic and timely public forum on tech and the future of news, featuring top newsmakers, experts, and changemakers.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Learn the secret of how Cofounder of 404 Media Jason Koebler and his colleagues have built one of today’s hottest new media startups reporting on uses and misuses of technology.
  • Hear directly from Marian Chia-Ming Liu, The Washington Post’s projects editor of strategic initiatives, on innovative, multitechnology approaches to storytelling.
  • Be inspired by how Dr. Paulette Brown-Hinds, publisher of Black Voice News and founder of Voice Media Ventures, is transforming a half-century-old weekly print outlet through data journalism.
