The San Francisco Brass Band will present Brass in Concert at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1225 Hopyard Rd., Pleasanton on Sunday, September 22 at 4 p.m. Advanced tickets purchased online are $22 for general admission, $17 for seniors, and $8 for students. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $2-3 more per ticket. Children are free.
The concert features a wide-variety of brass band music, including a beloved standard by Eric Ball, Resurgam, the toe-tapping Let’s Face the Music and Dance, Celtic favorite, Gaelforce, and a new and exciting piece by Naomi Styles called Pandora’s Box. Featured cornet soloist Michael Marmarou is performing Clear Skies.
Experience the power and beauty of a British-style brass band, a unique ensemble known for its rich, warm sound and versatility. British-style bands feature a specific lineup of brass instruments, including cornets, tenor horns, baritones, euphoniums, and tubas, accompanied by percussion.
Based in San Jose, the San Francisco Brass Band is the sole nationally competitive British-style brass band on the West Coast. Our mission is to deliver exceptional brass performances to the SF Bay Area, proudly represent our region in national and international competitions, and amplify the voices of traditionally underrepresented composers and musicians. Over the past two years we have clinched 1st place finishes at the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) Championships across progressively more challenging divisions. You can listen in to music from our recent performances in the Bay Area or watch our 1st place performances from the April 2024 North American Championships, The Cosmographic Mystery and St. James. – A New Beginning.
