Friends of San Francisco Performances Frederica and Jake bring the glitter of the opera stage to Community Music Center’s Concert Hall, helping a new generation of children fall in love with singing.

Recognized as one of the most beloved musical figures of the time, Frederica von Stade has enriched the world of classical music for three decades with her appearances garnering six Grammy nominations.

Guggenheim Fellow Jake Heggie is a composer of operas, more than 250 songs, chamber, choral, and orchestral works. They are joined by talented young Bay Area singers they have mentored from the Young Musicians Choral Orchestra.
