Free Friday Night Bands at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk | 2019

Every summer, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk casts its net and drags in a host of Top 40 bands from the ’70s, ’80s, and early ’90s to play free concerts right on the beach every Friday night.

Cracker is an American alternative rock band led by founders and songwriters, singer David Lowery and guitarist Johnny Hickman. Lowery and Hickman formed the band in 1991, soon releasing the album Cracker with hits “Happy Birthday to Me” and “Teen Angst”.

The band is best known for their 1993 gold album, Kerosene Hat, which includes the hit songs “Low”, “Euro-Trash Girl” and “Get Off This”.

The band will also be performing as Camper Van Beethoven, David’s previous band with hits like “Take the Skinheads Bowling” and “Pictures of Matchstick Men”
