Join MoAD Stories from The Museum of the African Diaspora for live art, live music by Los Rakas , poetry, a panel discussion, and a screening of Crossing Fences: Intergenerational Stories of Black Masculinity.
Inspired by playwright August Wilson’s landmark play “Fences.“ This project provides “first voice” intergenerational stories of young and older men of African descent in Oakland and San Francisco. It engages the deep and rich conversations, dialogues, and stories that we rarely hear from Black men.
Spoken word and live monologue by Giovanni Adams, leading actor of Mount Misery.
Panel Discussion with:
Shawn Taylor author of Big Black Penis: Misadventures in Race and Masculinity.
Gaylon Logan Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Village-Connect and much more!
