This Monday, they will be screening “The Fifth Element” aired on 1997.

An ancient evil seeks universal annihilation and somehow earth is the epicenter of it all.  Can Korben Dallas, an ex-military taxi jockey living the high-tech low-life of 23rd century New York, and Leeloo, a constructed super being with highlights, suspenders and a multi-pass, execute a cyclical prophecy as etched into a superannuated edifice?  Taking equal parts fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, avant-garde and action, the 5th Element is an entertaining slice of Luc Besson future, made in that era when CGI was only beginning to take over.  Featuring Die Hard, Gary Fucking Oldman, Ian Ash Holm, Chris Tucker’s Best Performance Ever, Tricky, Tiny, and that guy from 90210.  Directed by Luc Besson.
