Tonight, they will be screening “Patlabor: The Movie.” The story is about how mechanical “Labor” robots glitch a city towards catastrophe, all driven by a dead-man’s biblical code.  Can Tokyo’s 2nd Special Vehicles Division thwart this ghostly hack?

Patlabor is the work of director Mamoru Oshii, who would go on to make the original Ghost in the Shell anime. Featuring Mecha-Fights, awesome dated soundtrack, grit-production value, and a bunch of ideas that made it into Ghost in the Shell.  Directed by Mamoru Oshii and based on the manga by Masami Yuki.
