In a nation becoming increasingly divided, we are in great need of solidarity and love. Our society is aching from the years of trauma, oppression, and violence that we’ve endured. That is why Survivor Alliance is overjoyed to host our 2nd annual REDEFINED: A Day of Healing.

At this one day retreat, we are cultivating a community for allies and survivors to come together and heal. REDEFINED brings together resources, workshops, arts, and more, dedicated to promoting healing through unity and creativity. Anyone who has been impacted by trauma, directly or indirectly, is encouraged to attend.

At the event, expect to:

-Hear the stories of strong, resilient survivors from a range of backgrounds
-Gain valuable skills to heal yourself and your community
-Learn how to be a better ally and support survivors in your life
-Find ways to get involved and give back to the movement
-Connect with non-profits working in the space
-Tap into your creative side through movement, writing, and artistic expression
-Be inspired by leaders who are engaged in the movement.
-Support local artists, businesses, and creators who are collaborating around community healing

Tickets are free, but any donation you can spare (online or at the door) helps make this event possible and accessible to all!

REDEFINED will take place on April 27, 2019 at Humanist Hall in Oakland, CA and will feature:

-Local Women and Minority Owned Food Vendors – Treat your tastebuds while supporting local businesses! (Vegan options available)
-Non-Profit Information Tables – Learn about all the incredible work local organizations are doing, and how you can get involved!
-Arts, Crafts, and Movement – Create and heal through expressive therapy activities
-A Zen-Den – A quiet space for anyone needing a place to recharge, meditate, and relax
-Raffle Tickets – Prizes range from tickets to Bay Area services and events to locally crafted goods
-Workshops and Community Building Exercises: Gain hands-on skills that you may use to heal yourself or community
-Open-Mic – A time for you to share your story, creativity, and knowledge
-Healing through Movement – Explore how your body holds trauma and begin to release it through movement-based activities
-And of course, more information about Survivor Alliance and upcoming projects/events

Full lineup coming soon! Join our email list or RSVP for updates as we add speakers.

Nervous about getting triggered?
Healing isn’t easy. Given the topics that will be discussed, we understand that some talks and presentations could be triggering (not to mention how triggering day-to-day life can be). That’s why we’re taking steps to ensure that you will have resources available to get you through it. We also encourage attendees to practice self-care as needed. Enjoy sunshine, fresh air, food, art, and more outside. Above all, our community is here to support you. Bring a loved one or meet a new friend to share the experience and heal together.

We can’t make this happen without your help! Support the community by:

Registering to volunteer
Applying to speak or table at the event
Making a donation when you RSVP
Sponsoring the event, financially or with product donations. We’re in need of support supplying coffee/tea, breakfast, and gifts for our raffle and volunteers.

For more information or for accessibility concerns, please reach out to hello@thesurvivoralliance.com and we will respond within one week.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
