The Valentines tradition continues. Gather and rage out this lil’ club called San Francisco. Hit some new spots & some old ones as well. Boomboxes will be provided, but also bring your own if you like. Extra speakers that can handle some bass always welcome.

DDP Sounds Like A Decent Time? Yes there are. There are ways to help out.

• Donate some money to the cause cos boomboxes are getting expensive and we break them all the time cos you guys are amazing + we love you so much.

What is a Decentralized Dance Party (DDP)?

Hundreds of party people carry boomboxes and the DJ (Admiral Fiesta) wears a backpack, containing an FM radio transmitter. All the boomboxes are tuned into the DJ’s master FM broadcast, resulting in a mobile, synchronized sound system.

In the past, people have built sound systems in shopping carts and baby carriages, constructed insane backpack-borne laser light shows, crowd-surfed each other up escalators, worn elaborate costumes, and performed epic dance routines for everyone to enjoy. Take the theme as inspiration and make it your own in the most heartfelt and spectacular way possible.

Bring a boombox that can tune in to FM radio (the stream is not accessible via mobile phone), dancing shoes, exercise equipment, giant props, good vibes. Everyone of all ages and styles are welcome.
