“Listen to everything all of the time and remind yourself when you are not listening.” -Pauline Oliveros

The world is not yet fully known. Another kind of knowledge is amassed through observation; it happens in sensation. We relate to our environment and to each other by virtue of our common immersion in the flux of the air. Listening is a relational phenomenon. Deep Listening is a practice that was developed by the late composer Pauline Oliveros. We will slow down and explore different modes of attention through sound and movement. We will use Oliveros’ sonic meditation scores as tools for our exploration. Please bring a mat or blanket to lie on, a notebook, writing utensil, and some water. 6-9pm.

Led by artist Anna Wolfe-Pauly. Anna develops tools to improve communication with remote space, and has spent the last year becoming a certified Deep Listener®. She lives in California. anna.wolfe-pauly.com, softeconomy.org
