SF Sketchfest 2026 (Jan. 15-Feb. 1)

Deep Night with Dale is the latest incarnation of the long-running podcast/basement talk show hosted by James Bewley in the guise of alter ego, the lovable failure, Dale Seever. Down, but never out, Dale seeks talented individuals to stay up late and be his guest in conversations about comedy, characters, and compulsions. Bewley has performed as Dale since 2002, and in that time has performed all over the country. The podcast began in 2009 and has earned rave reviews from AV Club’s Podmass, TimeOut NY, and NYTimes. Previous guests include Ilana Glazer, Bridget Everett, Matt Besser, Kate Berlant, John Early, Phoebe Robinson, among many others.

Performers

Allie Goertz
Allie Goertz is a comedic musician whose obsession with pop-culture and heart ache has born an album of nerdy love songs. Since releasing her first crowd-sourced album Cossbysweater in 2013, Allie has been touring the country opening for and playing alongside her favorite musicians and comics. She is currently located in hazy Los Angeles running the @midnight Twitter account and performing her new material.

Jenny Zigrino
With the sweetness of the Midwest and the iron balls of the East Coast, Jenny Zigrino is a comedian that packs a punch of truly original humor. She’s charmed audiences across the country with her wit, keen observations, embarrassing anecdotes, and brilliant honesty for a compelling performance you can’t ignore. She made her late night debut on Conan O’Brien and was a finalist in Comedy Central’s “Up Next” Comics to Watch of 2013.

Lisa Mezzacappa
Lisa Mezzacappa is a San Francisco Bay Area-based bassist, bandleader, composer, curator and producer. An active collaborator in the Bay Area music community for more than a dozen years, she leads her own groups Bait & Switch, the Interlopers, Nightshade, Eartheaters and the Lisa Mezzacappa Trio, and co-leads the ensembles BODABODA, duo B., Cylinder, the Mezzacappa-Phillips Duo, and the Caribbean folk band Les Gwan Jupons.

Philip Ross
Philip Ross is an artist, inventor, and scholar whose internationally awarded and exhibited research is focused on biomaterial design and life support technologies. A thought leader on biomimicry, Philip’s innovations in mycelium engineering are globally recognized as foundational to the invention of mycotecture, the practice of building with mycelium.
