In this lunch-hour talk with a virtual reading, D. Denenge, a current artist featured in Women of Afrofuturism, expands on themes in SFO Museum’s One Step Beyond exhibition. She will connect mystical and spiritual traditions in Africa and the Diaspora through the lens of Afrofuturity, linking elemental rituals with concepts of transcendental equilibrium across cultural currents. As part of the program, Denenge shares her Word Art Divination Cards, a new deck in development, created from daily paintings with charcoal and healing herbs that respond to contemporary concerns, with the goal of empowering individuals and communities through the advising series Savvy Studio Guide to Superpowers: Unlocking Your Brilliance. Audience members will be invited to submit a question for the cards for two selected readings during the Q&A.

The exhibition is located post-security in Terminal 2. Visitors may apply in advance for SFO’s Gate Explorer Pass Program to access the gallery. A REAL ID or passport is required, and all visitors must comply with TSA regulations.
