Event Details

The South San Francisco Cultural Arts Commission presents a two-day multi-media art show featuring works celebrating the traditions of “Dia de Muertos/Day of the Dead.” This cultural tradition, observed in Mexico and Central America honors the life of deceased family members and friends. It is a joyful celebration, expressed in vibrant crafts, art, music, dance, parades, and the preparation of traditional cuisine. All ages are invited to participate in fun cultural craft making at the 3rd Floor – Creator’s Studio. Activities include creating masks, designing sugar skulls and more. Craft activities take place on Saturday, October 28, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday, October 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. while supplies last.

The juried visual art exhibit features two dimensional and three-dimensional works, including painting, photography, mixed media, and cultural crafts. Interested artists should submit their online entries by the deadline date of Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Visit the SSF Current Opportunities for Artists page for complete entry guidelines and the online entry form.
