Walnut Creek, CA… The Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market celebrates its annual Family Day event on Saturday, July 22nd from 9am-1pm. The market will include all of your favorite local farmers and vendors in addition to special activities for kids and families! These activities include a children’s cooking class, a festive craft, a marionette puppet show, mini petting zoo, photo booth, carnival games, balloon art, face painting and musical entertainment!
Children of all ages are invited to join us in an interactive cooking class hosted by Laura Kauffman, instructor and founder of Food Art with Kids, a Lafayette-based kid’s cooking school (foodartwithkids.com). This is a fun opportunity for kids to learn a quick, healthy recipe using fresh ingredients from the market. The puppet show featuring marionette puppets from Fairyland in Oakland, CA will begin at 10:30am. Kids will also enjoy Farmer Shep’s mini petting zoo.
Highlights of the market will be vine ripened cherry tomatoes, fresh Brentwood corn, sweet stone fruit, fresh baked bread and much more! Enjoy lunch while you’re at market. You can chow down homemade tamales or pick up some fresh handmade rolled dumplings for an easy dinner!
The Diablo Valley Certified Farmers’ Market is a location approved by the County Agricultural Commissioner where farmers offer for sale only those fruits and vegetables they grow themselves. The market operates every Saturday from 9am-1pm, year-round. For more information join us at @diablovalleyfarmersmarket, call the market hotline at 800-806-FARM (3276) or visit CAFarmersMkts.com.
