Kristian Kabuay, Artist, Documentary Filmmaker, and Calligraphy Artist
Celebrate Filipino-American Heritage Month with us as we learn about Kristian Kabuay’s unique calligraphy style. Using a combination of ancient Philippine scripts, Baybayin, and modern street art techniques, Kristian is working to resurrect this writing style and share his culture with people around the world. Born in the Philippines and raised in the Bay Area, Kristian has a passion for calligraphy, graffiti, indigenous culture, technology, and Asian writing systems. He lectures and gives live demonstrations of his unique performance style at universities and museums around the world. Kristian currently lives in San Francisco. Thursday, October 29 at 6:00 p.m. at South San Francisco Main Library.
