Learn about the FAMSF exhibition The Early Celebrity of Peter Paul Rubens, focusing on the artist’s arguably most innovative period, from 1608 until about 1620. During these years, Rubens established a style that came to dominate Flemish painting, skyrocketed him to international fame and guided ambitious painters for generations to come.

Renowned for his virtuoso handling of oil paint and taut depiction of dramatic action, Rubens was also an international diplomat, shrewd businessman and intellectual.
