Come celebrate Earth Day on the Oakland Estuary – join us for the Jack London Aquatic Center on-the-water trash cleanup. The Oakland Estuary is a special corner of San Francisco Bay that’s home to countless marine animals and a thriving watersport community. Unfortunately, this stretch of water gets hit hard by urban trash pollution and illegal dumping. Join us in the effort to remove as much garbage from the Oakland Estuary as we can to protect our water, wildlife, and community.
We’ll have cleanup crews working on the water and on land to maximize the amount of garbage we collect. Volunteers who want to get out on the water can bring their own watercraft (or rent-see details below) and paddle to hard-to-reach trash hotspots with members of the local water community. Volunteers can also choose to stay on shore and join our trusty land crew to clean up the Jack London Aquatic Center waterfront.
We’ll come back together after our hard work is done for giveaways, snacks, and to load up the City of Oakland trash truck with all our grubby garbage finds. Register today and invite your friends- we can’t wait to celebrate Earth Day with you.
