Monday, August 9th, at 7:00 pm – Nan Chase presents her book: Eat Your Yard: Edible Trees, Shrubs, Vines, Herbs and Flowers for Your Landscape
Nan is touring through from the East, making stops here at Bird & Beckett as well as at the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market and Omnivore Books. Her book looks at how to insinuate edibility into your landscaping. She previously wrote the book, Bark House Style and publishes in the New York Times and elsewhere on architecture, landscape design and other topics. You may remember her terrific NYT piece on Glen Park & Bernal.

A presentation/roundtable discussion on what it will take to keep the wild Pacific Ocean end of Golden Gate Park the way it is — and why that strikes many of us as important — (in the face of a planned astroturfing of the soccer fields there, and the installation of 60 foot light stanchions, to blaze late into the night) along with a discussion of aproposal for the Clyde Warhaftig Open Space (Diamond Street at ) participation in the discussion by all in attendance strongly encouraged
