Envelop 3D Music Venue Kickstarter Launch & DJ Party | Public Works

Envelop is a 3D immersive music venue (28.4 ambisonic system) with interactive lights and video, to be installed in The Midway, a creative complex opening soon in the Dogpatch district of SF.

Dance to music by DJ Christopher Willits, DJ Mikey Maramag (Blackbird Blackbird), DJ Dials, Manitous, DJ Mophono and other special guests.

Using custom software, artists can seamlessly compose music that will envelop the listener with sound that moves around the audience from any direction. They believe this is the future of music production. They have currently raised enough funding for the equipment, but need the community’s support for the final build out. Help Envelop launch their Kickstarter campaign at this fun party.

About Envelop:

An intimate performance space opening Summer 2015 and housed within The Midway creative complex in San Francisco, ENVELOP is at once a unique audiovisual instrument for electronic artists, and a world-class venue for audiences to experience sound and light.

Designed from the ground up for immersive electronic music and performance, the ENVELOP system comprises a next-generation 28.4 channel Ambisonic sound system, individually addressable LED lights, and high-definition video projection. The entire audiovisual system can be controlled as a single instrument using open-source software that integrates into an electronic musician or lighting artist’s existing toolkit.
