Event Details

She gave up dreams of being a foreign correspondent to be a housewife and ended up one of the most widely read writers in the country. In this frank, poignant show, iconic humorist Erma Bombeck (played by Carolyn Ford Compton) – “a dynamo with an easy laugh” – takes us along with her on her journey from stay at home mom, to successful syndicated columnist, to feminist activist. At turns funny and heart wrenchingly sincere, At Wit’s End offers Bombeck’s voice of reassurance that yes, the world is crazy, but if we can find a way to look at it and laugh, we have most of it covered.

“America’s irrepressible doyenne of domestic satire. Madcap, bittersweet humor in classic Erma Bombeck-style. You’ll laugh until it hurts and love it!” —The Boston Globe

Performed live at Tabard Theatre, presented via multi-camera and live streamed directly to you in the comfort and safety of your own home.
The performance is approximately 1 1/4 hours, no intermission.

Video preshow will start 30 minutes prior to the performance time.

Due to the pandemic, Tabard Theatre is closed to patrons, and currently operating as a broadcast studio only.
