Join the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts for a film screening and conversation with interdisciplinary artist Jeffrey Gibson and the graduating seniors from Burton High School (San Francisco), presented on the occasion of Gibson’s exhibition “Nothing is Eternal.”

Inspired by Gibson’s new video work, the students share films that explore the subjective and social functions of flags. The screening is followed by an open dialogue about how this generation is thinking of our current national moment, the after-effects of the election, and their expectations for the future as they prepare to graduate and enter a new phase in their lives.

In advance of the event, watch Jeffrey Gibson’s “Nothing is Eternal” on wattis.org.
