From July 17 – 26, 2014, Evelyn Roth, internationally renowned eco-arts pioneer, textile and performance artist, will be in the East Bay for The Evelyn Roth Arts Residency.

See the full schedule of family and kid-friendly eco arts events, workshops, talks and performances. Many are free.

There will be 10 days of engaging, family friendly community arts and eco-events; most of them are free to the public, to focus public awareness on issues of climate change, global warming, vanishing species, pollution, and recycling. These will take place primarily at Expressions Gallery in Berkeley and at various East Bay venues including Oakland’s Uptown Art Park, Firehouse Art Event Hangar in Berkeley, East Bay senior and teen centers, and at the Oakland Zoo.

There will be storytelling by master Ssoryteller Mark Jeffers inside a momma and baby Humpback Whale, Evelyn Roth’s 50-foot Nylon Zoo Inflatable Storytheater.

Come meet Evelyn Roth, the renowned Eco-artist who created this amazing Whale story tent. Join the Kids’ Costume Parade with Web-of-Life Creature Capes – butterflies, frogs, birds, etc.

Go on a Recycled Sculpture Walk with Eco-arts educator, Suellen Primost. There will be food trucks and eco-info tables where you can learn how you can protect the great whales and endangered marine life around the world.
