$5 Guided Tour of Oakland’s 1931 Art Deco “Paramount Theater”

EVENT UPDATE: There are no upcoming events known for this event series - please check the organizer website for any updates.

The Paramount Theatre is a 3,040-seat Art Deco concert hall located at 2025 Broadway in Downtown Oakland. When it was built in 1931, it was the largest multi-purpose theater on the West Coast.

Oakland’s Paramount Theatre is one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States. An authentic restoration was completed in 1973 and the theatre was entered into the National Register of Historic Places on August 14th of that year. Restored to its original splendor, meticulously maintained, and fully upgraded to modern technical standards, this Historic Landmark now serves all the arts.

Public tours of the Paramount Theatre are typically given on the first and third Saturdays of each month, excluding holidays, holiday weekends and event days.
