Berkeley City Club, Drawing Room 2315 Durant Avenue, Berkeley

International award-winning August Vilella is an artist based in Barcelona. He creates oil paintings by means of a surreal-intuitive method. Thanks to this method and without using any previous sketches or ideas, he tries to give shape to his past and future through the subconscious mind. His honors include Best artist in Tokyo International Art Fair (Japan), and Best Innovative Art in the Global Art Awards (Dubai). August will be visiting California for the first time as he visits to exhibit his work in conjunction with events presented by the Claude Heater Foundation, and he will donate a portion of sales from his work to the Foundation.

While at Berkeley City Club for the exhibition, you are also invited to attend a musical recital co-presented with the Harmony Project Bay Area, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, featuring San Francisco Symphony first violinist Sarn Oliver, and classical/world music artist Misha Khalikulov, lead cello teacher at Harmony Project. Although there is no additional admission charge required; donations will be appreciated to support the work of both organizations. FREE w/ RSVP

Earlier in the day of Aug 24, there is also a unique showing of Richard Wagner’s romantic opera Tristan und Isolde, in a historic 1968 film version featuring Claude Heater, showing act 2 & act 3. Tickets
