2nd Capitola Beach Festival: Row Boat Races & Lighted Nautical Parade | 2019

This fall, Capitola would like to introduce a new annual event, the Capitola Beach Festival, to be held at the end of September.
Locals and visitors alike look forward to the weekend-long event that will include a number of events and activities held all over the village, from a 3-Miler Fun Run to a lighted nautical parade along the river.

FREESaturday, September 28
- 8 am-11 am: Little Wharf 3 Miler Fun Run. Must pre register.
- 8 am-noon: Sand Sculpture Contest. Registration online or on Capitola Beach at 8 am
- 10 am–1 pm: Poster artist Shane’ Mann will be signing posters
- 4 pm–6 pm: Music at the Beach: ExtraLarge
- 7 pm–8 pm: Lighted Nautical Parade on Soquel Creek
Sunday, September 29
- 6 am–11 am: Fishing Derby. Registration begins at 6:30 am near the end of the Capitola Wharf. Bring your own fishing poles. Open to all ages.
- 7 am–Finish: Horseshoes on the Sand, Participants must pre-register online or at 831.475.6522
- 9 am–noon: Chalk Art on the Seawall, Sign up at Esplanade Park. Children pre-school age and above are welcome to create their own masterpiece. Art chalk provided.
- 10 am–1 pm: Poster artist Shane’ Mann will be signing posters
- 1 pm–Finish: Rowboat Races. Registration at the pathway by the Stockton Bridge from noon–1 pm. Two people per boat. Boats supplied.
