Celebrate the 111th birthday of Frida Kahlo and her love affair with San Francisco during Fiestas Fridas, an annual festival taking place at locations throughout the Mission District, and new for 2018, additional venues are participating around the Bay Area.
Be sure to wear flowers in your hair. All of the events are free and kid friendly unless otherwise noted.

- Frida Kahlo Birthday Party Processional, July 6th – City College San Francisco, 11 Frida Kahlo Way; 1 pm
Celebrate Frida Kahlo’s 111th birthday. Gather at 11 Frida Kahlo Way (near Ocean Avenue) in front of City College of San Francisco’s Old Bookstore Annex. After cake, everyone will walk in procession with Frida Kahlo masks down the newly renamed Frida Kahlo Way (formerly Phelan Avenue) to the site of City College’s planned Performing Arts Education Center. The 9th year of Frida Art in this iconic San Francisco restaurant, featuring several local artists. Come meet the artists, have some taquitos and a margarita or two. Curated by Frankie Franco.- Santa Frida, July 7th – Wonderland SF, 1266 Valencia St., SF; 6-10 pm

Mercadito Frida, Art, Fun, Community. Celebrating Frida’s 111th birthday with cake, mezcal tastings, face painting, music, and more. Featuring local FRIDArte vendors and food by La Cocina entrepreneurs. More to be announced. Tickets are $7; kids under 12 free.- ¡Viva la Frida! Join for a fun party to celebrate the opening of the summer exhibition, The World Of Frida, featuring original photos of Frida by Nikolas Murray. Watch designers hit the runway in our knockout Frida Fashion Show. All are welcome to participate in the Frida Lookalike Contest. There will also be an outdoor mercado with vendors selling unique items inspired by Frida. Everyone gets a free Frida button. Light refreshments will be provided. Fri-Dia de los Muertos & Art Opening with local artists and DJ Rebecca playing the tunes. Celebrating Frida’s death day. Come dressed as a muerto and be a Kahlovera or get your face painted. Join in for a celebration of Frida Kahlo’s 111th Birthday and all things Frida. They’ll be out on the street and under the sunshine “Fri-Dafying” you.
