Octopretzel is… a tangle of five Bay Area musicians, educators and parents – friends that originally came together for backyard jams. Over the years, as we developed our careers and grew our families, the music we created together continued to inspire us, and thus we formed our band. The name Octopretzel was coined by one of our then 4yr old kids, and it stuck.
The music, comprised of original songs as well as traditional favorites, is whimsical and fun, with an underlying sensitivity for nature, feelings and story-telling. Best described as folk music, our songs cross generations and genres, weaving together many different musical styles, instruments and themes. Our intention is to create music that can be enjoyed by humans of all ages – children, and their parents too.
“Octopretzel is… Fantastically folksy, magically musical, dreamily danceable and singably sweet for humans of all ages!”
