The Nihonmachi Street Fair reaches a momentous milestone, marking 50 years of illuminating the rich traditions and dazzling diversity of the Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. Join us on August 3rd & 4th in San Francisco’s Japantown for a weekend of unforgettable experiences, where the spirit of Jtown comes alive with a vibrant cultural explosion.

Please note that for 2024 the Japantown Peace Plaza is closed for construction, but the festival still goes on in Japantown

Sounds of Thunder Car Show w/ 25 classic muscle cars – Saturday & Sunday

The streets of Japantown will not only be filled with conversations and great music, but you’ll also be able to see close-up fabulous Vintage Japanese & European Cars and Muscle Cars from back in the day. Our communities car enthusiasts will bring out their treasures to share with Fair attendees. A great way to ask car enthusiast questions about their treasured vintage cars and learn more about these classics.

Saturday, August 3 – Featuring Classic Imports (Japanese or European).
Sunday, August 4 – Featuring Classic American Muscle and Hot Rods

Doggie World – Saturday & Sunday

San Francisco is frequently cited as one of America’s most pet-friendly cities, especially dogs. It’s a city with family and dog friendly experiences…and where dogs out number children. We welcome you to our 12th Annual Doggie World.

At this year’s 50th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair’s Doggie World, will again be a special gathering place for the four-legged members of our community to join in on the fun. Local animal experts, adoption agencies. and vet professionals will be in attendance to offer tips and information. Highlights from past year’s Doggie World: Pet Vendors, Rescues and Adoptions, Ask the Dogtor, wagbags, Pet Portraits and much more!

And guess what?? We will be bringing back our famous Nihonmachi Street Fair Doggie World Pageant!! More info to come!

Food Fest – Saturday & Sunday

Children’s World – Saturday & Sunday

The Nihonmachi Street Fair’s Children’s World is bursting with fun cultural activities and games, the perfect place for kids to unleash their inner artist and adventurer. But it’s not just about playtime! Here, children can experience the fair firsthand, seeing young volunteers in their bright NSF shirts buzzing with excitement as they help out. These friendly faces might just inspire the next generation of volunteers, planting a seed of community spirit that will blossom for years to come. Let the fun begin. Summer of Love Stage – Saturday & Sunday

For over five decades, this legendary stage has been a vibrant hub of musical discovery, showcasing everything from toe-tapping reggae to soulful blues. This year, we’re celebrating our heritage with a star-studded lineup featuring artists who have rocked our stage throughout our history. Get ready for a journey through time as we experience the evolution of music and the enduring spirit of community!

Throughout the fair, this stage will come alive with a diverse showcase of performers representing festivals and events from our AANHPI cultures. Prepare to be educated, entertained, and inspired as you experience the music, dance, and traditions that bind these communities together. Join us at the Clear Channel Outdoor Stage and celebrate the power of community!
