Pokémon Drone Shows Over San Francisco (Aug. 27-30)

Catch four Pokémon-themed drone shows lighting up the San Francisco sky Aug. 27-30, 2026 including three completely free shows along the Embarcadero.

The Pokémon World Championships are coming to San Francisco Aug. 28-30, 2026, bringing top Pokémon players and fans from around the world to the city. To celebrate, Pokémon will be taking over the night sky with four drone shows in four nights, including three free public shows over the Ferry Building and a bonus postgame show at Oracle Park.

🛸 Thursday, Aug. 27: Oracle Park

After the Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks game

The Giants are celebrating Pokémon Worlds Night with a postgame Pokémon-themed drone show above Oracle Park. A ticket is required to watch from inside the ballpark, but the show should be visible for free from outside.

Free viewing: Willie Mays Plaza, McCovey Cove or China Basin Park
Timing: Approximately 3 hours after the game begins (6:45 pm)

🛸 Friday, Aug. 28: Ferry Building

9:35 p.m. | FREE

Head to the Embarcadero for a completely free public Pokémon drone show over the Ferry Building.

Best viewing spots: Harry Bridges Plaza, the waterfront behind the Ferry Building, Pier 1, Pier 14 and WETA Plaza/Ferry Terminal Plaza.

🛸 Saturday, Aug. 29: Ferry Building

9:35 p.m. | FREE

Another chance to see Pokémon light up the sky above the Ferry Building, with the same waterfront viewing areas available.

🛸 Sunday, Aug. 30: Ferry Building

9:20 p.m. | FREE

The final Pokémon drone show of the weekend takes flight Sunday night, wrapping up Pokémon Worlds weekend with another free waterfront display.

📍 Ferry Building viewing locations: Harry Bridges Plaza, Ferry Building waterfront walkways, Pier 1, Pier 14 and WETA Plaza/Ferry Terminal Plaza.

If four nights of Pokémon drones aren’t enough, Union Square is also hosting a free outdoor screening of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu on Saturday, Aug. 29. Pre-show entertainment begins at 5 p.m., with the movie starting at 8 p.m.

Four nights. Four Pokémon drone shows. Three are completely free. And with the World Championships happening around town, there should be plenty of Pokémon action to go around.
