San Francisco Chinatown is the birthplace of Chinese American lion dancing in the U.S. over 100 years ago, and is currently home to some of the most respected and recognized lion dance performers in the country.

The second annual Chinatown Lion Dance Festival makes its return on July 22-23, 2023, a conglomeration of culture and community that will create a truly captivating exhibition of performance while fostering the spirit of friendly competition. This event was made possible by the efforts of Chinatown small business owner Go Duck Yourself, CHSA, and TPS Motorsports.

Come experience this one-of-a-kind gathering with over 14 lion dance, martial arts, and dance troupes and schools from around the United States performing their own unique styles. The goal of this event is to unite and uplift the San Francisco Chinatown community through the sharing of this timeless cultural art form.
