Steam-Powered Lumber Mill & Museum Free Demo Day (May 6-7)
EVENT UPDATE: There are no upcoming events known for this event series - please check the organizer website for any updates.
We invite you to step back into history at our working steam-powered lumber mill and museum. We will be open to the public Saturday & Sunday, May 6th & 7th from 10AM-3PM each day! Join us for live demonstrations under the majestic giant redwoods. We offer docent-led tours that describe the mill’s 108-year history and the broader role local lumber mills had in building the Bay Area that we know today. You can also explore the mill, blacksmith shop, and gardens at your own pace.
It’s great for kids, history buffs, nature lovers, photographers, and gearheads. The cook shack will be open for delicious lunchtime snacks and meals that you can enjoy on our beautiful redwood picnic grounds. You can also pack a picnic (no alcohol please).
Dress in layers. We are only 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean and temperatures change quickly. Please consider wearing flat shoes. You will be walking on dirt, sawdust, and uneven terrain.
This event is free, but please consider helping us continue demonstration runs with your donation to The Sturgeon’s Mill Restoration Project.
Sturgeon’s Mill is located in west Sonoma County, at 2150 Green Hill Rd, Sebastopol CA 95472. Free parking is available.
