San Francisco Trolley Dances | 2020
As of July 20th this event was still scheduled to take place. Please check http://epiphanydance.org/san-francisco-trolley-dances/ for updates
Each year, Epiphany Productions transforms the city’s streets into stages through San Francisco Trolley Dances, a series of free contemporary dance performances along a Muni line.
A two-day, free (with Muni fare) public performance curated by Epiphany Dance Theater artistic director Kim Epifano, pairs artists and ensembles with specific sites along San Francisco’s MUNI route, where they are invited to create an 8- to 15-minute piece in response to the physical environment, architecture and history of the area.
When: October 17-18, 2020
Saturday and Sunday
Online screenings will then take place at 11 am
Locals and visitors alike look forward to this annual festival of dance and performance. Out of an abundance of caution, this year’s edition of San Francisco Trolley Dances will move from the street to the screen. Participating artists will be filmed on location at sites throughout the Dogpatch and Bayview Hunters Point District.
Participants include 13th Floor, Arenas Dance Company, Fog Beast, Post:Ballet, Zaccho Dance Theatre, as well as Epiphany Dance Theater. Each “tour” will run approximately 75 minutes with additional features to explore each site including 360-degree video, historical background and behind-the-scenes footage. SFTD is a free event. Visit their website for more information.
