Event Details

Yoshi’s Oakland invites their fans in for a free show if you buy with dinner in the dining room or just $5 if you eat elsewhere. Either way, it’s a good deal for some great music.

‘Sweet’ Sue Terry, saxophonist and clarinetist, is an internationally known soloist and recording artist.  She’s performed with many luminaries of Jazz such as Dr. Billy Taylor, Al Jarreau, Art Blakey and Chaka Khan. She’s also the author of several instruction books and in the press, she’s been hailed as “simply extraordinary” (Die Wahrheit, Berlin Germany) and a “Superwoman of Jazz” (Hartford Courant).

Well-known as a composer, Peggy Stern’s compositions range from highly original pieces to reharmonized standards.  Four of her compositions are featured in the Sher Real Book series. Peggy currently resides in Washington, DC, where she has created the Jazz choir Capital City Voices. She is on this year’s faculty at Jazz Camp West, and on the East Coast she is the Artistic Director of the Wall Street Jazz Festival, in their 9th year in New York’s Hudson Valley.
