Submitted by the Event Organizer
Come enjoy the final fall bonfire on Ocean Beach with free s’mores, plus singing, drumming, stories, and frolicking around the fire from 7:10-11 pm on October 19, 2013.
Bring many friends, stories, songs, drums and other musical instruments. Share stories of change and miracles; sing of seasons, remembering and change, and meditate on our place in the world.
Please bring food and drinks for yourself and some to share, but they will provide chocolate, Kosher marshmallows, and Graham crackers for s’mores.
The bonfire is hosted by YeaShore, a Jewish organization, but all are welcome to this event. They’ll have a Jewish Havdalah ritual about an hour after sunset. The ritual lasts about ten minutes. As not all the guests at YeaShOre’s bonfires are Jewish, they explain it and invite everyone to join in (or at least be quiet).
Directions & Meetup Instructions:
- 7:10-7:30 pm: Meet at the Beach Chalet Museum at 1000 Great Highway, between Fulton St. and Lincoln Way.
- After 7:30 pm: Cross the Great Highway from the Chalet, go to and down the ramp (not any stairs).
- Look for a fish windsock and a Yeashore banner
- Park on Fulton, not at the Ocean Beach parking lot. The Ocean Beach parking lot and Golden Gate Park have signs that state “No Parking” at 10 pm.
