Event Details

Yes, there used to be a beach in North Beach, but a huge pier in the shape of an F caused it to be filled in with shops, warehouses, and other non-beach things. Let the San Francisco history experts at Foot explain the whole story at this free tour.

“Where’s the F-ing Beach in North Beach?” celebrates the F-shaped pier that later became Fisherman’s Wharf by examining North Beach with F-tinted glasses. You’ll get the general low-down on San Francisco’s “Little Italy” by exploring fires, fairs, film, faith, fiction, foreigners, funny folks, famous flashers, food, fashion, and farchitecture, to name a few.

Foot Tours are offering this fun-and fact-filled walk as a free “dress rehearsal” tour at 11am on March 29, 30, and 31, 2013. Their guide needs a few bodies and your honest feedback to get this tour on their regular schedule. However, space is very limited, so they are offering this on a first-come, first-served basis.

Their regular tours go for $30 a pop, so hurry up and reserve your spot.
