Loyd Family Players | First Friday Concert Series | Oakland

Friday, June 6, 2014 Band Lineup:

Loyd Family Players (featuring members of Extra Action Marching Band)
Hailed as “Half band, half bateria, all samba monster.” by the SF Weekly, the Loyds have roots in Brazillian samba and branches in the diverse musical culture of Oakland. Featuring musicians from the Afro-Cuban, Balkan, Gamelan and Marching band scenes, this 9 piece non-traditional bateria has quickly earned a reputation as one of the bay areas most raucous and jubilant party bands. Combining elements of Hip-Hop, Funk, Salsa, Heavy Metal, Dancehall & Reggae, they mix together unexpected breaks and textures with great precision whipping the dance floor into a frenzy.

Also on the bill:

  • Hi Scores (members of Hottub)
  • Mission Delirium
