Mount Tamalpais State Park, with the sponsorship of the California State Parks Foundation, PG&E, Whole Foods, and REI is having an Earth Day 2011 work party.
This Earth Day will focus on trail restoration around the Pantoll and Mountain Theatre areas (Stapelveldt, Alpine, Steep Ravine, Matt Davis, Bootjack, Riding & Hiking, Easy Grade, Old Mine, and Coastal View trails). Besides working on the trails volunteers can help with other tasks such as registration, food service, or parking.
Where: Plan to meet at Pantoll Parking Lot on Panoramic Highway at 8:30 AM. 3801 Panoramic Highway, Mill Valley, CA 94941 (intersection of Panoramic Highway and Pantoll Road). Served by public transit (West Marin Stagecoach).
What to Bring: Bring your own work gloves, sturdy shoes, water, snacks, sunscreen and appropriate clothing (dress in layers). The Pantoll area is the central headquarters for Mount Tamalpais State Park and gets more use than any other part of the park.
Free Lunch!: Afterwards there will be a barbecue sponsored by Whole Foods Market and a raffle
