This spring, the Forum team is hitting the road to take on 2020 in front of audiences around the Bay Area. On our second of five stops, KQED Forum will be broadcasting live from Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, where host Mina Kim will be taking on the US Census.

April 1, 2020 is Census Day, when the U.S. government counts the population in order to inform political representation and allocate funds for resources like infrastructure, college aid, and social programs. Looming over California getting an accurate census count this year are issues of housing insecurity, displacement from wildfires, and a lack of trust in the process that can make communities “hard to count.” During this live Forum, in partnership with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, we look at the hard-to-count communities in the Bay Area and California, as well as the creative ways organizations are working to reach those communities to make sure everyone is counted.

Breakfast beverages will be made available in the YBCA lobby prior to the event. Guests will receive access to a reception following the event where refreshments will be served.
