Following a sensational kick-off to our Summer Concert Series earlier this month, our 2015 season continues on Friday, July 10th with a celebration of the blues. The concert features Bay Area blues favorites HowellDevine and Big Cat Tolefree, as well as a prize drawing, face-painting for children and dancing in the street. Admission is free. PRM’s outdoor concert venue is located at the corner of Park Place and Washington Avenue in historic downtown Point Richmond.
Oakland-based blues trio HowellDevine opens the show at 5:30 pm. Charlie Musselwhite says “HowellDevine plays The Music with the original feel, intent and spirit, and you can tell they love the music while delivering some real blues in their own way . . . it knocks me out to hear a group playing such good quality blues today.” www.howelldevine.com
At 6:45 pm, Big Cat Tolefree takes the stage. From the inner-city limits of Oakland, Big Cat and his Hipnotic Band have transformed the West Coast blues and soul sound with their trend-setting music and vocal style. A 3rd generation Russell City blues singer, Big Cat has opened for The Temptations, BB King and Jimmy McCracklin. www.bigcatentertainment.com
