Event Details

Thanks to our friends at Tasting Table for clueing us into OPENrestaurant’s free and very tasty-sounding Chez Panisse event at the Berkeley Art Museum this Saturday, August 27.

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Alice Waters’ acclaimed restaurant, OPENrestaurant will be exploring the educational legacy of Chez Panisse by erecting 15 classrooms around the museum grounds where visitors can do everything from learning how to make salsa with a first-generation Mexican immigrant to taking turns pedaling a bicycle-powered wheat grinder.

And if all this food for thought is making you hungry, you can also take a break to snack on sustainable goodies like grilled corn, tamales and mortadella sandwiches at this celebration of a revolutionary restaurant which has become a pioneer of Californian cuisine.
