Step inside Berkeley’s former Half Price Books and discover its new life as an arts marketplace. Meet local artists, tour Zero Empty Spaces at 2036 Shattuck Avenue, and learn about affordable studios for artists, makers, designers and creative entrepreneurs. The free Open House Preview + Artist Information Session takes place Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 5–6 PM Pacific. RSVP at https://zes-berkeley-openhouse2.eventbrite.com. Approved participants joining during October receive the remaining days of October rent free, subject to availability, work-sample review, completed onboarding and a refundable security deposit. Studios start at $384 per month afterward, including utilities. Artists keep 100% of their sales, with 0% commission. Apply at https://www.zeartistspaces.com/rentspace.
